Brahmastra is directed by Ayan Mukerji and is based on a mythology-based fantasy with Ranbir and Alia playing the characters of Shiva and Isha. However, Ranbir is now being accused of hurting the sentiments of Hindus in the film.

In one scene, Ranbir is seen entering a temple wearing his shoes. This did not go down well with a section of Hindus, who launched a hashtag, #BoycottBrahmastra, on Twitter. Also joining the call for the boycott of the film were supporters of Sushant Singh Rajput. the fact that the film’s trailer was released just a day after Sushant fans marked the second anniversary of the actor’s death, did not go down well with them.

One user wrote, “Let us pledge to bring a change in our society and make a drug free nation. Do not spend your hard earned money to Druggiewood.
#BoycottBollywood is trending in twitter since last 2years. #BoycottBrahmastra must.”

Another fan wrote, ‘We Will #BoycottBrahmastra. We Will #BoycottBollywood. No one Can Stop Us. CBI Do Justice To Sushant.”

“Bollywood snatched Sushant from us, now we will snatch everything from them. Its Karma nothing else. #BoycottBollywood #BoycottBrahmastra. CBI Do Justice To Sushant,” wrote another fan.
