Sony TV’s Indian Idol has become hugely popular in recent years with judge Neha Kakkar and Aditya Narayan often trending on the internet for their on-screen romantic banter. However, this would sadly come to an end after next year as Aditya Narayan decides to announce retirement from hosting TV shows.
Speaking to a newspaper, Aditya said that 2022 would be his final as a host on Indian TV since he has bigger plans lined up.
“I won’t host after that. It’s time to do bigger things. I am bound by prior commitments, which I will complete in the coming months,” Aditya told Times of India. He added, “I will take a break from TV next year. I feel great about doing multiple things at a time, but it’s also exhausting. As grateful as I am to Indian television for being my cocoon through the past 15 years, it is time to move on to other things.”

Aditya, the son of legendary Indian singer Udit Narayan, had exchanged wedding vows with his childhood sweetheart Shweta Agarwal last year. Last year, the internet had expldoed with rumours that he was set to marry Neha Kakkar.
Neha, however, stunned everyone by announcing her wedding with former reality show contestant Rohanpreet Singh in October. Rohanpreet, who had appeared as a suitor of former Bigg Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill aka Punjab’s Katrina Kaif, later also made an appearance on the latest edition of Indian Idol as a guest.
Speaking about his career as a TV host, Aditya said that this gave him plenty of financial stability as he was able to ‘build a house in Mumbai, own a car and have a great life.’ “It’s not that I will abandon TV, but I will do something else like participate in a game show or judge one. But my time as a host is coming to an end,” he concluded.
