Comedian Sugandha Mishra of The Kapil Sharma Show has found herself in a spot of bother after the police in Punjab booked her for violating coronavirus rules during her wedding function.

Phagwara’s Deputy Superintendent of Police, Paramjit Singh, was quoted as saying that the decision to register a case against Sugandha, guests from her side and those from the bridegroom’s side after a video showing large crowd at her wedding went viral.

Sugandha tied the knot with Sanket Bhosale on 26 April in Punjab.

According to NDTV, the DSP said that whilst no arrests had been made in the case, all accused including Sugandha were booked under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant and relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act.

Sugandha and Sanket frequently appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show in the past. While Sugandha often acted as a teacher, Sanket was seen impersonating Sanjay Dutt. On one occasion, his deliberate mispronunciation of Neil Nitin Mukesh on The Kapil Sharma Show had left both the guests and audience in splits.

Last month, they had announced their engagement to Sanket Bhosale, eliciting a response from Indian Idol judge Neha Kakkar among others.
