Actor Arjun Kapoor’s recent interview to a newspaper implied that he still remained hurt by what happened to his mother Mona Kapoor following Boney Kapoor’s second marriage with Sridevi.

His replies had indicated that the actor had still not forgotten the bitter past. He had said, “It’s difficult for me to give a one-off reply, or in a ‘by the way’ manner. I actually need a lot of time to process what has happened.” The Ki & Ka actor had then said that his decision to protect Janhvi and Khushi post Sridevi’s death was because he ‘felt impulsively at that point’ adding that ‘between me and my sister(Anshula), we felt that it was the right thing to do.’

Arjun had gone on to reveal that their decision to provide protection to Janhvi and Khushi in the immediate aftermath of Sridevi’s death was only after they consulted their aunt- Mona Kapoor’s sister. “I’ll always need her consent (for certain things) for her to be fine about our actions,” he added.

However, in her recent interview to Hindustan Times, Janhvi has expressed her admiration for Arjun and his sister Anshula Kapoor. Stating that she couldn’t have asked for a ‘a better brother and a better sister,’ Janhvi said, “The only reason we can stand strong after whatever happened is because of the kind of love and support Arjun bhaiyya and Anshula didi [half-siblings] have been giving us [she and her younger sister, Khushi].”

Janhvi said that she was thankful to both of them adding that she cherished the ‘family dynamic.’

“I am very thankful for them. I couldn’t have asked for a better brother and a better sister. They have given us a lot of strength. He is a very wise man and has given tips like, ‘just be honest, be yourself and be respectful towards people.’ Somehow, when he says it, I take it like the gospel truth (laughs),” Janhvi added.

The general consensus was that Sridevi’s tragic death in February this year had a profound impact in bridging the gap between her daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor and Boney Kapoor’s other two children, Anshula and Arjun Kapoor.

Arjun in particular was seen leaving no stone unturned in acting like a big brother while protecting his grieving sisters, Janhvi and Khushi. Anshula, for her part, too had shut up a troll, who had tried to target Janhvi on social media soon after Sridevi’s death in February.

Janhvi’s debut film Dhadak will be out later this month. In the film, she will be seen opposite Ishaan Khattar, brother of Shahid Kapoor. The tracks and the teaser of the film, released so far, have evoked an overwhelming response from their fans.

Janhvi was seen consoling Khushi, who wept uncontrollably during the release of Dhadak‘s trailer as the sisters missed the presence of their Mom. Arjun Kapoor had penned down an incredibly emotional message for Janhvi as he wished her the very best on making her Bollywood debut.
