Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor may not have publicly pronounced their love for each other, but it seems Amitabh Bachchan just gave it away about their simmering blossoming romance on his quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati on Tuesday night. This was after the KBC host played a clip from Alia Bhatt’s blockbuster Raazi to ask a contestant to name the movie.
As expected, the contestant said she did not need the options since Alia Bhatt was her favourite. She told Bachchan, “Alia Bhatt is my favourite.” “She’s my favourite too,” replied Amitabh Bachchan. The KBC host continued, “I too like her a lot. She’s an extraordinary actress. She does a lot without doing anything.”
The Bollywood megastar then quickly mentioned Alia’s rumoured boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor as he said, “Then there’s also Ranbir. Have a look at their faces. When you see them act or dance, their facial expression never makes you realise what they are about to say or do. They have very little expression on their faces.. I tell both of them that ‘your face is God’s gift.’ They act beautifully. They are my favourite.”
Bachchan told the contestant, a 19-year-old student from Jharkhand, that Alia was favourite to both of them.
Alia and Ranbir will be seen working with Bachchan in their upcoming film in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, which is set to release on 25 December this year.
Alia had recently shared an adorable photo of Ranbir Kapoor to wish him on his birthday. This had led many to conclude that the Raazi actress had confirmed the news of being in a relationship with him. Her mother Soni Razdan too had joined her in wishing Ranbir on his birthday.
Last year, Ranbir had almost confessed to being in love with Alia claiming that even water tasted like sharbat (juice). Ranbir was in conversation with Anupama Chopra, whose husband Vidhu Vinod Chopra had co-produced his then upcoming film Sanju. Chopra had asked, “You seem to fall in love a lot. Does it complicate the craft ever?”
