Amitabh Bachchan issues new clarification, asks media to direct their queries to Indian govt

Actor Amitabh Bachchan has issued new clarification on the latest revelation that he and attended a board meeting via phone of one of the four offshore shipping companies in 1994.

Responding to the new revelation, Bachchan’s new statement said, “On Panama disclosures, I wish to state that queries continue to be sent to me by the media. I would humbly request them to kindly direct these to the GOI (Government of India) where I, as a law abiding citizen, have already sent, and shall continue to send, my responses. I stand by my earlier statement on the ‘misuse of my name’ in the matter and in any event the press reports do not disclose any illegal act committed by me.”

New facts revealed that he had attended one of the directoras’ meeting via telephone.

A report by Indian Express on Thursday revealed that sharply contradicted Bachchan’s version.

According to new information obtained by the paper, meetings of Tramp Shipping Limited (Bahamas) and Sea Bulk Shipping Company Ltd (British Virgin Islands), were held on 12 December, 1994.
