Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan dropped his guard for his Hollywood friend and American actor, Elijah Wood, who is on a trip to India for a musical performance.
Best known as Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings, the 34-year old actor is also a part of a DJ duo called ‘Wooden Wisdom’. For this, he will be performing in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad from September 3 to 9.
For providing special security to the international star, Amitabh’s personal security officer, Jitendra Shinde was seen next to Elijah Wood throughout the day during his stay in Mumbai.

An insider said, “Jitendra is always with Bachchan when he steps out of his home. But, the latter decided to part with him on Thursday so that he could provide security to Wood. The two stars know each other quite well. Early in the morning, Jitendra reached the five-star hotel in Bandra where Elijah Wood was staying. Later, he accompanied him to a Bengali food restaurant in the vicinity where he had lunch.”
On leaving Bachchan and accompanying Elijah, Jitendra said, “There was tremendous buzz about his (Elijah Wood’s) visit and so, I have taken a day off to personally guard him with the help of my team.”
Being a friend of megastar Bachchan, Elijah does not know many from the Bollywood industry. He was heard saying about “mixing Bachchan’s popular old Hindi film songs during his performances at a city nightclub.”
Elijah Wood will be in Delhi on Friday before flying off to Hyderabad. He will be back in Mumbai on Monday for a three-day stay during which he will meet Big B.
