IAS topper Tina Dabi Khan has donned several hats since cracking the civil services exams with flying colours in 2016. Her fans on social media have seen her give beauty tips and act as online guru when she launched her own blog page. But, Tina took to Instagram on Saturday to announce that she had also turned into a book reviewer and posted a profound review of a book by Chitra Banerjee on Mahabharat.

Mesmerised by Chitra’s story-telling in her book The Palace of Illusions, Tina said that the author had left her spellbound by attempting to tell the story of Mahabharat from the perspective of Draupadi. She wrote, “I would begin by stating that this is one of the best books that I’ve ever read.”

Showering praises on the author, Tina wrote, “Chitra is amazing. The story is woven so beautifully that the reader will surely feel upset when he/she reaches the end. All of us know the Mahabharat. But Chitra’s Mahabharat re-telling is unique as it is totally written from the perspective of Draupadi. And, her Draupadi is not portrayed as a victim of fate or a mere pawn but as the game-changer.”

Tina said that she was giving 11 out of 10 points to Chitra Banerjee’s book.

Writing her reviews about Randy Pausch’s The Last Lecture, Tina wrote, “It’s inspiring, motivating and changes how you look at life. It is centered around what advice would you impart to others about life if you were about to die soon? (IF IT WAS YOUR LAST LECTURE).” She rated the book 9 out of 10.

Tina also recommended her fans to read To Sir With Love by ER Braithwaite, Zen The Art of Simple Living by Shunmyo Masuno and A World Of Three Zeroes by Nobel Laureate Muhamamd Yunus.

After securing the all India number one ranking in the IAS exams in 2016, Tina fell in love with the same year’s number two holder, Athar Aamir Khan. They got married last year and are currently posted as SDMs in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district.
