Actress Neetu Chandra has revealed how a businessman once offered her Rs. 25 lakh per month to become his salaried wife. Chandra, who acted in films such as Traffic Signal, 13B, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Rann among others, said that she had no work or money today in Bollywood due to a lack of work opportunities. Neetu told an entertainment website that she even contemplated suicide just like Sushant Singh Rajput.

“Should I suffocate myself to death? Kya logon ke jaane ke baad hi unke kaam ko pehchana jaayega? Jo Sushant ne step uthaya, kitne saare log sochte hain (Would person’s work be recognised only after her death? Many people think (of taking steps) what Sushant took,” Neetu told Bollywood Hungama.

When she was asked if the thought of suicide crossed her mind, she said, “Yes.”

“There’s a big businessman, who said, ‘I will give you Rs. 25 lakh per month and you become my salaried wife’,” she added. She, however, did not reveal the name of the businessman.

Recalling her hard times, Neetu said that she had gone completely broke and had no money or work today in the industry. She said that hers was ‘failure story of a successful actress.’

She found plenty of support from internet users as one wrote on Instagram, “It takes hell lot of courage to talk about our vulnerabilities. Hats off to you Neetu.” Another commented, “Napotism is in the industry. Why people don’t give you work when you’re so talented.”

However, some Sushant fans advised her to not comment on Sushant’s death alleging that the actor was murdered. “SSR was murdered …. don’t say anything wrong abt his demise if you aren’t aware abt complete truth …it’s hurtful for his family and fans,” wrote one user.

Neetu’s film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Mithila Makhaan had won National Awards.
