Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday announced the reduction of petrol price by Rs. 5 per litre and diesel by Rs. 3 per litre.
Shinde, who recently rebelled against his own party, the Shiv Sena, to become replace Uddhav Thackeray as the state’s chief minister, said that the decision slash fuel prices was taken after a cabinet meeting.
Decisions of the Cabinet meeting: Decision to reduce rates by Rs 5 per liter on petrol and Rs 3 per liter on diesel. “Swachh Maharashtra Abhiyan (Citizen) 2.0 Abhiyan” will be implemented in the state. Centrally sponsored Amrit Abhiyan 2.0 (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation) to be implemented in the state.”
The announcement came just days after Shinde said that his government would cut VAT on fuel prices.
