When Krishna Raj Kapoor died earlier this week, the entire Bollywood turned up to pay their condolences at the official residence of late Raj Kapoor. Krishna Raj Kapoor, the matriarch of the famous Kapoor clan, had died at the age of 87 on Monday. Among those notable, who turned up for the funeral included Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Alia Bhatt and filmmaker Karan Johar. All of them are now facing social media heat after a video of them laughing during the funeral meet went viral.

In the video, Karan Johar and Rani Mukherjee are seen in conversation with Aamir Khan as Alia Bhatt looks on. Soon, Karan bursts into laughter, while Rani and Aamir join in. This did not go down well the Twitterati, who began to slam the Bollywood stars for their perceived insensitivity. One user wrote, “You need to have some manners…it was not a kitty party but was a funeral….I hope rani mukherjee laughs on ur funeral too …then ur soul will rest in peace….both of u are idiots.”

Another user commented, “This is how bollywood celebrities behave even during somebody’s funeral. People are laughing and having fun at the funeral. Nothing is important for them except sleeping along and etc. etc.”

The user, who posted the controversial video wrote, “Looks Straight from film Page 3 at #KrishnaRajkapoor funeral, see @karanjohar laughing with Rani M @aamir_khan @aliaa08 . #Shame But nobody will condemn for sure.”

Page 3 was Madhur Bhandarkar’s film highlighting the insensitivity of the rich and famous in India’s entertainment industry.

Karan had earlier tweeted expressing his grief on the death of late Raj Kapoor’s wife. His tweet had read, “The embodiment of grace…of dignity …of elegance and of stength…. Krishna aunty will always be the First Lady of the Film Fraternity…the most generous, kind and gentle person I have ever known with the most terrific sense of humour…will miss you Krishna aunty.”

This is not the first time that Bollywood stars have been accused of being insensitive during a funeral of someone from their fraternity. In March this year, Jacqueline Fernandez had faced social media users’ wrath after the photo of her smiling had gone viral on the internet.
