Aaj Tak TV anchor Chitra Tripathi had to face the backlash from the protesting farmers, forcing her to flee from the site of the farmers’ protest in Muzaffarnagar. The TV anchor was seen making a quick exit as angry farmers chanted ‘Godi Media Hai Hai.’

Tripathi, a TV anchor for Aaj Tak, was in Muzaffarnagar to report on Sunday’s mahapanchayat, called by the farmers against the controversial farm laws. Little did she realise that she would have to face considerable anger for the alleged biases of her and her employer, the Indian Today group, in favour of the BJP.

As expected, Tripathi became a topic of intense social media conversations. There were some, who questioned India Today Group’s decision to send a woman anchor to cover such an event.

One journalist shared a video stating how Tripathi was not ill-treated by protesting farmers.

Aaj Tak and other TV channels have long been mocked for being Godi Media for their alleged biased coverage in favour of the BJP.
