BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover has shared a photo of what he said was his ‘Rs. 10 crore dining table’ days after the fintech company accused him of splashing almost Rs. 1 crore ($1,30,000) on buying a dining table.
Sharing a photo of a dining table, Grover wrote on Twitter, “Is it a space rocket? Is it a time machine? No it’s a ₹10cr dining table !! Haha ! I don’t hold the Guinness World Record for most expensive table ever. Nor do I intend to. Press – don’t fall for BharatPe Board (undisclosed sources) lies – you’ll lose your credibility like them.”
Taking a potshot at the BharatPe board, Grover wrote, “It’s not even worth 0.5% of that. I’d rather put ₹10cr in business and create employment for 1,000 of folks so that they can earn & put dignified meal on their tables for their families. Score; Self Goal (Loss of Credibility) by BharatPe Board / Investors – 1 : Lavishness – 0.”

Last week, Twitter had erupted with meme fest on the news of Grover being forced to resign minutes after receiving an upcoming board meeting agenda. There are reports that the board was expected to discuss possible action against Grover based on the report submitted by advisory firm PwC.
The development came just days after BharatPe sacked Grover’s wife Madhuri Jain Grover for alleged financial irregularities.
Grover is also a judge on Sony TV’s reality show Shark Tank India. The show is a copy of BBC’s Dragons’ Den.
