Last week, the jury in America found Amber Heard guilty of defaming her ex-husband Johnny Depp and ordered her to pay $15m in compensation. Since then, Heard has become a topic of intense social media conversations. Amidst social media conversations on the jury verdict against Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, Twitterati have begun discussing ‘Amber Turd.’ This has left many perplexed since nobody had heard about this name before.
Who Is Amber Turd?
Amber Heard reacted in disappointment to the jury verdict and made it clear that she would file an appeal against it. Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, said, “We had an enormous amount of evidence that was suppressed in this case that was in the UK case.
“In the UK case when it came in, Amber won and Mr. Depp lost.”
Britain’s High Court had ruled in Heard’s favour in 2020 saying that it was ‘substantially true’ to describe Johnny Depp as a ‘wife beater.’
However, Heard’s decision to challenge the jury verdict in America did not please Twitter users, who began to mock her as ‘Amber Turd.’ Turd, which literally means a lump of excrement, is also used to describe a person as obnoxious or contemptible.
One Twitter user wrote, “Just to be clear #AmberTurd owes 7 million to charity and 8.3 million to Johnny ooohhh she is not appealing shit.”

Another user wrote mockingly, “I find it particularly glorious that #AmberTurd’s downfall came through 2 women. Judge Penny Azcarate, who decided to televise the trial and make the truth visible to the world, and Camille Vasquez who tore AHs lies to shreds during cross examination. 💪💪These are real women!”
“I don’t know what planet #AmberTurd lives on, she clearly is violent to both Johnny Depp and her sister Britney, we know that from recordings.
Yet she tried to stage DV claims against Johnny Depp. How stupid do you have to be to have violent tendencies and blame others for it,” commented another Twitter user.
The jury had also awarded $2m to Heard in the trial.
Johnny Depp’s lawyer had also made a reference to hashtag #AmberTurd during the trial, adding that the first time it was used on social media was way back in 2016. What prompted netizens to trend #AmberTurd was Johnny Depp’s claims that his ex-wife defecated on his bed.
