The news of Barcelona footballing great Gerard Pique splitting with singer Shakira after 11 years of relationship has become of the most talked-about topics on the internet in the last 24 hours. What has made the topic even more interesting is the suggestion that Shakira caught Pique cheating.
Shakira has not given her reasons for the split but the internet has exploded with suggestions that the pop star had caught the Spaniard cheating on her. Shakira is the mother of Pique’s two children.
A statement issued via Shakira’s publicist read, “We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

The revelation that Pique threw away his precious relationship with the mother of his two children left fans angry. One wrote, “Pique cheating on Shakira is going to damage his legacy more than Anfield and Lisbon ever did.”
Another commented, “Pique cheating on Shakira is one thing, being incapable of being loyal in a relationship of 12 years when ur in your 30s is sad. Incredible immaturity. Is this the man we want to pay 80m in the next 2 seasons?”

Who Is Gerard Pique Cheating With?
According to Spanish newspaper El Periodico, Pique is seeing a 20-year-old blonde. Journalists Lorena Vazquez and Laura Fa, who work for the newspaper, said that Pique has been seen meeting a 20-year-old girl, who is a student as well as an event manager in Barcelona. Her identity has not been revealed by the newspaper.
According to reports, Pique was spotted with this woman on many occasions until Shakira caught him red-handed.
Pique was recently asked by his former Manchester United teammate Gary Neville on his relationship status with Shakira and why he had not been able to convince the pop-star to marry him despite being in a relationship for 11 years. Pique had replied, “I like it how we are right now. We have two kids, nine and seven right now. We work good as a couple.”
When asked by Neville if he had asked and been rejected, Pique had said, “No no no I would tell you, I don’t have no problem. But it’s not the case.”
It seems, he was aware that all was not well in his life.
