Voter card issued in the name of Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina in Bengaluru


A voter Identity Card bearing name and other details of Bangladesh’s PM Sheikh Hasina is doing the rounds on social media. The card bears her name, picture, husband’s name and all other personal details has been detected by some people.

The only information which differs from the PM’s actual personal details is the date of birth, which on the card says 1992.

JKR doesn’t vouch for the authenticity of the document

Karnataka Home Minister KJ George told India Today on Wednesday, “I don’t think this is an authentic ID card. I will order a probe into the matter.”

The controversy doesn’t stop at this, another voter card issued in the name of a fugitive Virginia Lo Yao, who is wanted in the United States of America (USA) has also come into light. The American authorities had even announced a $ 50,000 bounty on her.

JKR doesn’t vouch for the authenticity of the document

If true, then these voter cards are a serious lapse on the part of the issuing authority with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) going to polls on July 28.
