Pakistan embassy in Serbia embarrasses Imran Khan, posts scathing video critical of government

In a huge embarrassment to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, the official Twitter handle of the country’s embassy in Serbia recently tweeted a scathing video critical of his government.

Sharing a satirical video, the official Twitter handle of Pakistan Embassy Serbia wrote, “With inflation breaking all previous records, how long do you expect Imran Khan that we government official will remain silent and keep working for you without been paid for past 3 months and our children been forced out of school due to non-payment of fees. Is this naya (new) Pakistan?”

In its subsequent tweet, the embassy had written, “I am sorry, Imran Khan, am not left with another option.”

The development evoked huge reactions from netizens as many began to target Imran Khan. Both tweets were later deleted.

However, the embassy later tweeted saying all its social media handles had been hacked. It wrote, “The Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts of the Embassy of Pakistan in Serbia were hacked. The messages posted during that period were not from the Embassy of Pakistan in Serbia. The accounts now stand restored. @ForeignOfficePk.”

This was the video that the Pakistan Embassy Serbia had shared.

In the video, a person is seen singing using a famous line uttered by Khan. Using Aapne Ghabrana Nahi (You must not be scared), the singer rhymes it to attack Khan for the rising prices and other developments adversely affecting the ordinary public. He says, “If soap becomes costlier, don’t use. If wheat becomes dearer, please don’t eat.”
