French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for Covid-19 after showing symptoms and will isolate for seven days. A statement by his office said that the 42-year-old leader was ‘still in-charge’ of the country.

The statement from the Elysée Palace read, “The President of the Republic has been diagnosed positive for Covid-19 today.” It’s, however, not clear how Emmanuel Macron contracted the virus. There’s also no news on whether Macron’s 67-year-old wife Brigitte has tested positive for the virus.

France has reported more than two million positive cases of COVID-19 with nearly 60,000 fatalities.
