Iraq: Car bombs kill 10 in Baghdad

According to Iraqi officials, at least 10 people have been killed and 27 injured in the capital Baghdad after two bombs blasted in parking lots of two hotels.

The blasts happened just before midnight and were heard across the City centre, as reported by the Associated Press. The first blast hit the Babil Hotel, near the Tigris River, and the second struck the Cristal Hotel, formerly known as the Sheraton. Both hotels, popular with Western tourists, witnessed casualties as the blasts took place.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks. However,Iraq has been seeing frequent attacks by Islamic State group for the past year.
