Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, Priyanka Chopra's friend, pregnant with first royal baby

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, also a friend of actor Priyanka Chopra, is expecting a baby in the spring next year. The announcement was made as the royal couple began tour of Australia.

A statement by Kensington Palace said, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.
“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

The baby will be seventh in the line of succession, bumping Harry’s uncle the Duke of York into eighth place, reported London’s Sky News.
Meghan was married to Prince Harry in May this year. Among those attending her wedding was Priyanka, who had wowed the British monarchy with her style.
In Australia, Prince Harry and Meghan were met by a large media and security presence at the airport on Monday, reported BBC. The couple follow in the footsteps of Prince Harry’s parents – Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales – whose first royal tour was to Australia and New Zealand.
