China, Nepal to manage border more effectively

Customs officials from Nepal and China have agreed to operate border points more effectively, Nepali officials have said.

Immigration authorities have made arrangements to allow Nepalese traders, trucks and drivers in Kerung, the Chinese border market that connects with Nepal’s Rasuwa district, Xinhua quoted the officials as saying.

Kerung is the border point through which Nepal imports fuel from China.

It is the only trade route currently under operation for bilateral trade as another Khasa-Tatopani route remains closed since a massive earthquake struck the country on April 25.
