There are reports of bomb being found at the home of Hillary and Bill Clinton in the suburbs of New York City, reported Reuters news agency.

A report by the New York Times said that the explosive device was found by a technician while screening for mail at the home. This came just two days after a bomb was sent to the home of liberal philanthropist and financier George Soros at his home in the suburbs of New York City.

Clinton is a former US president, while his wife Hillary unsuccessfully ran for president in 2016.

US officials, according to a report by London’s Independent website, said that the suspicious package was similar to that was found at the house of George Soros. Another package reportedly containing explosives was also sent to former President Barack Obama.

The packages, sent Wednesday morning to the Clinton’s residence in Chappaqua, New York, and Mr Obama’s offices, were intercepted by US Secret Service after the package containing explosive powder was discovered at billionaire philanthropist George Soros’ home, added the Independent report.

In a statement, the US Secret Service said it had intercepted two suspicious packages addressed to ‘protectees.’ “The Secret Service recovered a single package addressed to former first lady Hillary Clinton in Westchester County, New York…. a second package addressed to the residence of former president Barack Obama was intercepted by Secret Service personnel in Washington DC.

“The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such. The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them,” the statement read.
