India’s Mariyappan Thangavelu on Tuesday won a Silver medal while Sharad Kumar took Bronze in men’s high jump (Sport Class T42) event.
This has taken India’s medal tally in Tokyo to a double-digit mark. Earlier, shooter Singhraj Adhana had won the bronze medal in the men’s 10m Air Pistol (SH1) event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Soaring higher and higher! Mariyappan Thangavelu is synonymous with consistence and excellence. Congratulations to him for winning the Silver Medal. India is proud of his feat.”
