Ravindra Jadeja approves fan’s criticism accusing Virender Sehwag of sleeping during India-South Africa Test

Ravindra Jadeja played a key role in scripting India’s 203-run victory against South Africa as his devastating bowling alongside Mohammad Shami in the second innings of the first Test meant that the visitors were bundled out for just 191 runs. He took six wickets in the match, was on a hat-trick, scored 70 runs and was quite impressive with his fielding. But, when former India opener Virender Sehwag posted a congratulatory tweet after India’s win, there was no mention of Jadeja, leaving cricket fans incensed. Although Jadeja did not react directly to Sehwag’s tweet, he’s now retweeted a fan, who had wondered if Sehwag was sleeping during the first Test.

Taking to Twitter, Sehwag had written, “Fantastic test match for @ImRo45 , a dream beginning to opening the batting in Test cricket. Wish him the very best. That was a convincing win for India with some great contributions from Mayank, Shami, Ashwin , Pujara. #IndvSA.”

Sehwag faced incessant trolling for leaving Jadeja out of the list of those he mentioned in his tweet. One Twitter, whose tweet was later retweeted by Jadeja was scathing in his criticism for the former India opener. He had written, “@virendersehwag kya aapke TV me @imjadeja
ki #batting, #bowling aur #fielding ka performance nahi dikha??? Ya phir so gaye the???”

Jadeja retweeting a tweet critical of Sehwag shows he too isn’t pleased with Sehwag for leaving his name out of his congratulatory social media post.

The second Test match between India and South Africa starts on 10 October.
