India’s Mohammed Shami has secured his career-best seventh in the ICC Test ranking. Shami attaining the seventh position in the latest ICC Test ranking is a massive jump of eight places by the bowler from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. There are three Indians namely Jasprit Bumrah, Shami and R Ashwin in the list of top ten bowlers from across the globe.
Shami has been devastating with his bowling in recent matches. His spell of 7 wickets during the just-concluded Test match in Indore helped India to defeat Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs.
Pat Cummins of Australia has occupied the top place, while Kagiso Rabada of South Africa and Jason of West Indies are placed at second and third positions respectively. Shami’s teammate Jasprit Bumrah is at number four, James Anderson of England at number five, New Zealand’s Trent Boult at number six, while Ravichandran Ashwin has occupied the 10th place.
In the list of top 10 all-rounders, Ravindra Jadeja has occupied the second spot, while Ashwin is placed at number four.
The top 10 list of Test batsmen have Virat Kohli at number two after Australia’s Steve Smith, Cheteshwar Pujara at number four followed by Ajinkya Rahane at number five. Rohit Sharma has also broken into the list as he’s now placed at number 10.
