After weeks of speculations, India’s tennis star Sania Mirza has finally confirmed that her sister Anam Mirza will tie the knot with Asad, son of former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin. According to Sania, the two will tie the knot in December this year.
“She is actually getting married in December. We just came back from her bachelorette trip in Paris. We are really excited,” Sania told Times of India.
Sania said that her sister was ‘marrying a lovely boy.’ “His name is Asad and he happens to be the son of Mohammad Azharuddin and we are really excited about it,” the tennis star added.
Anam had recently taken to Instagram to announce that she was about to get married. She was posing with a ‘Bride to be’ ballon seen on the glass wall in the background.
Earlier, she shared a photo of herself with Asad without any caption. But this was enough for social media users to speculate that the two were in love and will get married soon. They had reacted with ‘cute couple’ and ‘gorgeous couple’ comments. Anam Mirza is a fashion stylist by profession.
Both Anam and Asad have been dating each other for a while, but it’s only now that Sania has officially confirmed their relationship status. Sania had first declared Asad ‘family’ by sharing a photo of herself with him.
Sania had married Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik in 2010 and both have a child.
Azhar was recently elected as the president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association. This effectively ended his years of exile following his involvement in the match-fixing scandal.
