He wrote, “New fashion in indian cricket …..conflict of interest ….Best way to remain in news …god help indian cricket ……Dravid Gets Conflict of Interest Notice from BCCI Ethics Officer.”

Also joining him in condemning the BCCI’s act for insulting one of cricket’s great legends was former India bowler Harbhajan Singh. Singh, who played under Ganguly’s captaincy for many years, wrote, “Really ?? Don’t know where it’s heading to.. u can’t get better person thn him for indian cricket. Sending notice to these legends is like insulting them.. cricket need their services for betterment.. yes god save indian cricket.”

BCCI’s Ethics Officer Justice (Retd) DK Jain has asked Dravid to respond to the notice on conflict of interest after one Sanjeev Gupta, a life member of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, filed an official complaint against the legendary Indian batsman. Dravid, who is the head of National Cricket Academy’s Cricket Operations, also holds the post of vice-president of India Cements group, the owner of Chennai Super Kings IPL team.

Previously, the BCCI had sent notices on conflict of interest to Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Ganguly himself. Darvid has time till 16 August to file his response. He may have to make a personal appearance for the hearing if the Ethics Officer is not satisfied with his written response.
