“FREE Domino’s pizza for life”: Domino’s unique gesture to Mirabai Chanu after Olympics glory

Domino’s Pizza has come up with a unique offer for India’s newest Olympic medallist Mirabai Chanu after the girl from Manipur won India its first medal in weightlifting since 2000.

Soon after her win, Mirabai had said that she planned to treat herself with pizzas now that she had created history at the Tokyo Olympics. Reacting to the media story on Mirabai’s statement, Domino’s tweeted, “@Mirabai_chanu Congratulations on bringing the medal home! ????????????You brought the dreams of a billion+ Indians to life and we couldn’t be happier to treat you to FREE Domino’s pizza for life ???????? Congratulations again!!”

Domino’s also sent pizzas at Mirabai’s house for the star athlete’s family members. It tweeted, ‘We are elated that we could share this wonderful moment with @mirabai_chanu’s loved ones. She brought a smile to a billion+ faces, our Domino’s Imphal Team brought a small token of appreciation to celebrate the success with her family. #MirabaiChanu #Olympics #Olympics2021.”



Entertainment celebrities from across India on Saturday had taken to social media to congratulate India’s daughter, Mirabai Chanu, after the 26-year-old from Manipur won a silver medal on the first day of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. From Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman to South Indian film legend Mohanlal, India’s entertainment celebrities had heaped praises on Mirabai for ending the country’s 21-year wait for a medal in weightlifting.

The Manipur government has announced a cash reward of Rs. 1 crore to Mirabai. Chief Minister Biren Singh had made the announcement in a video call to Mirabai.
