India and England will lock horns in their first of the 5-Test match series on 1 August at Birmingham’s Edgbaston Cricket Ground. For the preparation of the Test series, Team India played a 3-day warm-up match against the Essex team, but it ended in a draw. Captain Virat Kohli scored 68 runs in the first innings off 93 balls.
Following his half-century, Essex Cricket took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian captain. However, their tweet, “This guy’s not bad at cricket… 50 up for @imVkohli off 67 balls!”, did not go down well by the Indian fans.

The 3-day practice match between team India and Essex ended in a draw.
Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli, Murali Vijay and KL Rahul played well but the failure of Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara has raised some concern. In bowling department, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma got 4 and 3 wickets respectively.
