Deepak Chahar’s sensational run continues, picks up another hat-trick in three days

Deepak Chahar has continued to wreak havoc with his devastating bowling as the 27-year-old bowler from Agra picked up his second hat-trick in three days. Deepak was the pick of the Indian bowler in India’s stunning win against Bangladesh in the third T20 International match at Nagpur. His latest hat-trick has come in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.

Deepak dismissed Vidarbha’s Darshan Nalkande, Shrikant Wagh and Akshay Wadkar with his menacing bowling as he claimed his second hat-trick in three days. He ended his spell of four overs with 4/18 with his performance immensely helping his Rajasthan team in restricting Vidarbha to 99/9 in a 13 over-match. Rajasthan had scored 105-8, but Vidarbha won the match by one run under VJD Method.

His T20 Indian teammate Khaleel Ahmed too was representing the Rajasthan team in today’s match. Khaleel took one wicket in his quota of three overs.

Not many would know that Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy has been incredibly lucky competition for Deepak. In 2018, Deepak had announced his arrival in professional cricket with 5-15 spell against Karnataka. His devastating spell had guided Rajasthan to beat Karnataka by 22 runs.

His impressive run in the competition was responsible for his selection in Chennai Super Kings IPL team.

On Sunday, Deepak had become the most economical bowler in the history of T20 International game after he finished with took six wickets by conceding just 7 runs. Previously, the most economical spell in a T20 International match was held by Sri Lanka’s Ajantha Mendis.

Deepak had also become the first Indian man to claim hat-trick in a T20 International match. Reacting to his historic feat later, Deepak had said that he wasn’t aware of his hat-trick feat until his teammates reminded that he had created a history.
