Referring to the several controversies surrounding AAP government, particularly the Kejriwal-Jung episode, Jaitley remarked that governance was not in the political agenda of AAP.
“The people of Delhi experimented with a new party in the elections, but it is a very costly experiment because governance is not their political agenda. The AAP government came following a huge mandate. They should understand their responsibilities. People want governance and not controversy,” he said.
Jaitley remarked that Delhi could have been turned into a global city, with its vast opportunities for business and tourism. The confrontation of CM Arvind Kejriwal and LG Jung over appointment of Shakuntala Gamlin as acting chief secretary of Delhi has attracted harsh criticism from BJP.
