Will shut milk and vegetable supplies if compensation not given to families affected by violence: Hardik Patel


Patel agitation leader Hardik Patel has threatened to shut the milk and vegetable supplies if compensation was not given to families, affected by the recent violence.

Hardik Patel has demanded Rs 35 lakh compensation each for the families of the dead from the Gujarat government.

Nine people including one police personnel have died in the Gujarat violence, so far. Curfew is still imposed in certain parts of the state.

Hardik Patel said, ”Government is not taking any action, I don’t think they have any power. They should give some answers.”

He also demanded the suspension of police officers who were responsible for the injuries caused to women and children.

Gujarat remains tense since clashes between police and Patel protesters started on 25 August night. Around 140 public buses and 1000 private vehicles have been damaged in the violence till now.

Patels have been protesting in Gujarat to demand reservation under the OBC (Other backward castes) category.
