Billionaire businessman Vijay Mallya was granted bail hours after being arrested on Tuesday in London in connection with an ongoing cases of defaulting on bank loans and money laundering.
The liquor baron, who is wanted in India for defaulting on loans worth Rs 9,000 crore, has been arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in London. He’s likely to be produced before a local court at 2 PM local time 6.30 IST.
India had made an extradition request in February to Britain to send back the businessman to face trial prompting his arrest in the past. He was granted bail soon after being produced in court last time.

He has “indefinite leave to remain” visa for UK which means he can live in the country indefinitely. The businessman faces at least half a dozen arrest warrants back in India.
