Two bike-borne men carried out an audacious robbery on the busy DND flyway that links Delhi with Noida in Uttar Pradesh. A 55-year-old businessman has filed a police complaint alleging robbery on Tuesday as he stopped his car to replace a flat tyre.

The victim, identified as Ramneek Mohan Chopra, is the managing director of a firm which manufactures and markets wireless equipment for security forces, reported PTI quoting police officials. The report further said that the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon.

Chopra in his complaint said that he was replacing his flat tyre at the entry of the Delhi-Noida flyway while entering from Maharani Bagh, when bike-borne men arrive there. While one stood near the car, the other opened the car door from the other side and lifted the bag before speeding towards Noida.

The bag, according to Chopra’s complaint, contained important documents. He said that he sought help from another bike rider and made desperate attempts to chase him until where DND toll plaza existed in the past. But, they manged to run away.

The victim suspected that his car had got punctured because the robbers may have sprayed sharp objects on the road with malicious intent.

In February this year, a gang of four men had carried out three robberies within a span of 30 minutes at gun point on the DND flyway. The road is incredibly busy all throughout the day with sporadic police patrolling in place.

The latest episode of what appears to be a planned robbery may leave daily commuters shocked.
