According to reports, a village head and his two sons have been arrested in connection with the murder of an RTI activist and Aam Aadmi Party member in Hardigaura, Uttar Pradesh.
Triloki Nath, the head of Hardigaura village, is the main accused in the killing of 58- year-old Guru Prasad Mishara, and was arrested along with his two sons, Neeraj and Sushil on Sunday. Station in-charge of Hardi police station, Shiv Prasad Yadav, has also been suspended following the incident, the police said.
According to complaint filed by Mishra’s family members, Triloki along with his brothers and sons attacked their house and brutally assaulted Guru Prasad. The family members claimed that Mishra, who sustained serious injuries, died while being taken to the hospital. Police had previously stated that a case had been lodged against six persons, including the village head.
The ASP further added that raids were being carried out to arrest the remaining suspects.
