Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister calling Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ‘Ram of politics’ has left netizens in splits.

In a video shot inside the UP assembly, state Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal is seen saying, “This is absolutely true. He (Adityanath) is the Ram of politics. He is sitting here to defeat the demonic forces here.”

Surprisingly, even Adityanath did not stop his cabinet colleague from likening him to Hindu God Ram. Adityanath being declared ‘Ram’ was greeted by loud cheer and chanting of new Hindutva war cry Jai Shri Ram inside the assembly.

However, netizens did not appear impressed even though some of them foudn the comparison quite hilarious. Twitter user Orthodox wrote, “Ram had a wife , all Ramayana life was centered around her also he wasn’t bald.” Usr Shivank Patel asked, “Sita mata kidhar hain inki?? (Where’s mother Sita?)”

User Nazmulbg took a dig at the so-called bravery of Adityanath by making a reference to the 2007 development when the UP CM had publicly cried after being arrested and made to spend a week in jail. Adityanath, then a BJP MP, had begged for protection from the then Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.

Another user asked, “Then what about Modi ji?”
