Police in Noida have arrested at least three people including two women from a hotel in Sector 15 in connection with an alleged prostitution racket. The man has been identified as 36-year-old Satendra.
Satendra is believed to a native of Aligarh and allegedly fixed deals for women and often accompanied them to hotels.
“The trio was held from a hotel in Sector 15 of Noida following a tip-off about their involvement in sex trade. A total of Rs 5,300 cash and some objectionable items were seized from their possession at the spot,” news agency PTI quoted a police spokesperson as saying.
Satendra, according to the Hindustan Times is employed as a junior engineer with a government department in Aligarh.
Police have also recovered contraceptives from the hotel room and seized three mobile phones belonging to the accused.
Both arrested women are in their mid-30s and hail from Delhi’s Kalkaji area. They allegedly worked for an escort agency.
A case has been registered against the accused at the Sector 20 police station.
