Three BSF jawans killed. six injured in landmine blast in Malkangiri, Odisha

Three BSF jawans were killed and six others injured in Maoist triggered landmine blast in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.

According to reports, the BSF jawans, in charge of security at the construction site of Gurupriya bridge, were returning to their base camp at Chitrakonda, where they accidentally stumbled upon a landmine, which went off killing three jawans on the spot.

Six jawans including the assistant commandant, Ashok Kumar, sustained severe injuries. They were admitted to Malkangiri district hospital.

Till reports last came in, combing operation in the area has been intensified to track down the Maoists.

BSF DG, DK Pathak has left for the spot and will be reaching  Malkangiri HQ.
