TDP MLA caught by ACB in bribery charge

A senior TDP leader and Member of Legislative Assembly Revanth Reddy was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau in Hyderabad for allegedly bribing an MLA’s son ahead of the MLC polls.

According to reports, the ACB caught the TDP MLA red handed, when he was handing over money to a nominated Anglo-Indian MLA Stephenson’s son, who had informed the ACB a day ahead of the money exchange.

The TDP and the ACB have refused to comment on the issue for the time being. Revanth Reddy had allegedly offered Rs.50 lakhs of the agreed Rs.5 crore amount for the nominated MLA to vote in his party’s favour.

A case has also been reportedly registered against Revanth under the Prevention of Corruption Act. He is currently in custody and the ACB are expected to make an announcement shortly. Two other persons were also reportedly arrested with him.

According to some media reports, Revanth has accused CM of Telangana, K Chandrasekhar Rao of conspiring against him.
