Sushma Swaraj tweets, says she is in AIIMS because of kidney failure


Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has tweeted informing about her ill-health adding that she had been admitted in AIIMS because of kidney failure.

She said, “I am in AIIMS because of kidney failure. Presently, I am on dialysis. I am undergoing tests for a Kidney transplant. Lord Krishna will bless.”

Many political leaders have wished her speedy recovery.

Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje tweeted, “My prayers & good wishes with you, Sushma ji. May you get well soon.”

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Our sincere prayers sushma ji. Hope u get well soon.”

Congress’ Ajoy Kumar said, “My prayers with you Sushma ji..”

“Her condition is stable. Her history of chronic diabetes has affected her kidney functioning. She is on dialysis,” sources at AIIMS said.

She was admitted to AIIMS on 7 November and is being monitored by a team of doctors, reported PTI.

Swaraj is admitted at the cardio-neuro centre under the supervision of Balram Airan, Chief of the Cardio Thoracic Centre.

She has been suffering from diabetes for almost 20 years. The 64-year-old BJP leader was admitted to AIIMS in April also when she underwent treatment for pneumonia and other health issues.
