According to reports, BJP issued notice to party MLA Raj Purohit over a sting video which purportedly shows him criticising Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis

BJP MLA Raj Purohit in the sting, had allegedly questioned the functioning of his party leaders, particularly Mangalprabhat Lodha, and made some remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the RSS too.

The video shows Purohit alleging how builder-turned-MLA Lodha funds the party at the Centre and state, besides RSS.

In the video, Purohit is seen commenting on PM Modi. He says, “He (Modi) is doing good job… But he should not make mistakes and upset traders who are the party’s support base.”
On the other hand, the mention of MNS chief Raj Thackeray as a “bogus” leader by Purohit invited a strong reaction from MNS supporters who ransacked his office in South Mumbai.

Speaking on entire episode, state BJP chief Raosaheb Danve said, “We will have to verify facts. The so called video operations’ credentials will have to be ascertained. We will send the video to the forensic laboratory. If facts are established, we will proceed with action.”

BJP vice-president Lodha said, “I am in politics for 35 years and my credentials are well known in the party. Is it a crime to be in a developer? I have always adopted fair practice in business and politics.”

Later in a clarification, Purohit said, “There has been an attempt to tarnish the image of BJP and my own career. I have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah and the entire national leadership of the party…”

But as of now, Purohit has been served a notice from the higher authorities of the party for his remarks.
