Angry parents of a 10-year-old girl damaged furniture of a private school in Telangana after the student died following being punished for not completing her homework.

The victim Ashritha was a student of Vivek Vardhini High School in Huzurabad town when she was punished along with five others by teachers for not finishing their homework on Tuesday. The students were reportedly asked to kneel down for a long time.

Ashritha had already been suffering from fever and reportedly fell unconscious in school after the punishment. She was rushed to a local hospital and from there to MGM hospital in Warangal. Ashritha left this world on Thursday morning.

Parents and relatives of the girl then kept the body in the school premises before attacking and damaging its furniture.

However, police reached the spot on time to manage the situation. A case against the school management as well as one against the parents and relatives has been registered for ransacking the premises.
