India’s Sania Mirza has entered the final at Wimbledon for the first time along with her women’s doubles partner Martina Hingis.

Top-seeds Mirza and Hingis beat American fifth seeds Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears 6-1, 6-2 in their semifinal match on Court No.1 at the All-England Club on Friday.

Although Sania had won the girls’ doubles event at Wimbledon 12 years ago, this is her first final in any seniors category at the famous event.

Also, while Sania has won three mixed doubles Grand Slam titles, she is yet to win a major in women’s doubles.

Mirza and Hingis, however, will face a tough test in the final when they take on Russia’s second seeds Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.

Later on Friday, India’s Leander Paes and Hingis made the final of the mixed doubles by beating Mike Bryan and Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 12 minutes.
