The latest development assumes significance in light of the upcoming assembly elections, where the ruling BJP will be seeking a second successive term for Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi has recently held a road show in Jaipur in preparation for this year’s assembly elections. The BJP is facing a huge anti-incumbency, which led to humiliating defeats in by-elections for two Lok Sabha seats in Alwar and Ajmer.
