The internet has been on fire for the last few days ever since a video clip from Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love went viral on social media platforms. The clip catapulted actor Priya Prakash Varrier into instant stardom across India with countless memes being created on her ‘wink.’
In the video, Varrier is seen winking at her co-star followed by interesting facial expressions. Her expressions appear to leave the co-star utterly mesmerised as he simply can’t believe his luck. The video also surfaced just days before Valentine’s Day prompting social media users to immediately link her ‘wink’ to the possible threats posed by the members of the Hindutva brigade on 14 February.
Such was the rage over Priya that she added more than six lakh followers on her Instagram page in just few days. On Tuesday, the actor also announced how the social media platform had added a blue tick to her account. Her current number of followers on Instagram stands at a whopping 2.1 million. The video from Oru Adaar Love has clocked 10.2 million (1.02 crore) views.

However, as the conversations on Priya gained momentum, one user compared the expressions given by Priya in the viral video to that of Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif saying, “Priya Prakash Varrier gave all types of expression in that two minutes what Katrina kaif couldn’t give in her entire Bollywood career.”
His tweet too went viral with over 7,000 likes and nearly 3,000 retweets.
However, many on Twitter termed the comparison unfair.
There are reports that Priya has also outsmarted Sunny Leone, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone as the most searched female celebrity on Google. The 18-year-old actor is clearly overwhelmed by the sudden stardom. She tweeted, “Thanks for Oru Adaar Love, I am stunned by the Over whelming Support across Social Media.
