Won’t rest till we provide 24×7 affordable electricity to all: Power Min

Minister of State for Coal, Power and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal, today said that providing electricity to rural areas of the country is a major challenge before his ministry but his government was committed to achieve success in this regard.

Reiterating his stand on the issue, Goyal said he will not rest till he provides 24×7 affordable electricity to all.

On the eve of World Environment Day, Goyal emphasised on the importance of environmental conservation. The Power Minister emphasised on the usage of LED lights as it helped reduce carbon emissions.

Goyal was at an award function where a total of 31 awards were given to power companies for improving the performance of power plants across the country.

as per reports, India achieved highest ever power capacity addition of 22,566 Mega Watts and lowest ever power deficit of 3.6 per cent during the last one year of NDA government.
