Police in Mumbai have arrested the man, who allegedly killed a model and an aspiring actress, Mansii Dixit, before dumping her body by stuffing it in a suitcase near Malad. The man arrested is has been identified as Muzammil Syed.
While the deceased model-actress, Mansii Dixit, was a resident of Mumbai, Syed hailed from Hyderabad. Mansii, who was in her early 20s, had gone to meet Syed at his relative’s place in Mumbai. Both had an argument for Rs 2,500 before Syed allegedly killed her in fit of rage.
Syed stuffed her body in a suitcase and called for cab with an intention to dispose off the body. Soon after reaching a deserted place in Malad, he dumped the suitcase. However, suspecting a foul play, the cab driver alerted the cops, who found Mansii’s body stuffed in the suitcase near Mindspace, a commercial hub in Malad (West).
The cops were able to arrest Syed within an hour of discovering Mansii’s body. “As per the information that we have, he (Muzammil Syed) is a resident of Hyderabad. He had come here (Mumbai) with his relatives,” police officer SP Nishandar told news agency ANI.
While 19-year-old Syed is a student, Mansii was also a partner in an event management company.
Nishandar said that his team was trying to ascertain the exact motive behind the murder. He was quoted by Mumbai Mirror, “We have arrested him for murder, and our probing to ascertain the exact motive behind the argument.”
Mansii’s last Instagram post on 4 October had read, “Lord… Give me patience, because if you give me strength I’m going to kill someone with it!”
