Photos and video from Kader Khan’s funeral in Canada

Legendary actor Kader Khan was laid to rest at an Islamic cemetery in Toronto this week. The veteran actor had died on 1 January after battling prolonged illness. 

An Instagram handle Toronto Muslims has posted a series of photos of Khan’s last rites being performed.

Legendary actor Kader Khan died earlier this week in Toronto aged 81. Several Bollywood artists including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, David Dhawan and Ajay Devgn took to social media to express their sadness on his demise.

Kader Khan had written dialogues for several hit films starring Bachchan such as Muqaddar Ka Sikander, Amar Akbar Anthony, Sharabi, Lawaris, Satte Pe Satta, Naseeb.

 

Two filmmakers Kader Khan actively collaborated were Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra. Some of the notable films he worked with these two filmmakers were Dharam Veer, Ganga Jamuna Saraswati, Coolie, Suhaag, Desh Premee, Amar Akbar Anthony, Parvarish, Jwalamukhi, Sharaabi, Lawaaris and Muqadaar Ka Sikandar.

Fans and well wishers stood in freezing cold to bid farewell to one of India’s most popular actors ever.

After his death, an old video of Khan had surfaced, where he was seen sharing a painful experience stating how he had to lose several films because of his refusal to address his ‘friend’ Amitabh Bachchan as sir. However, his son Sarfaraz said that Bachchan was one actor, Khan fondly remembered during his last days.
