Indian badminton player Parupalli Kashyap recorded a big win as he beat Chen Long of China to reach the Indonesia Open Super Series championship’s semi-finals at Jakarta on Friday.

“It’s always a big moment when you beat a top seeded player. I’m looking forward to the semifinal clash now,” Kashyap was reported saying. He further added, “Today, I was confident of beating Long. I had some close games against him in the past but somehow lost my way during crucial phases.”

Kashyap defeated the reigning world champion Long 14-21, 21-17, 21-14 in a match that lasted over an hour.

Currently, Kashyap ranks 12th in the world ranking and is set to play against Kento Momota of Japan in the semifinals on Saturday.
