Odisha BJP President threatened at gunpoint in state office allegedly by party workers

In an unprecedented drama, two youth claiming to be BJP workers, threatened the Odisha state president of the saffron party, Basant Panda, at gunpoint in the state party headquarter in Bhubaneswar. The two youth are identified as Pinak Mohanty and Sambit Panda of Barang locality.

Later on, they were caught by the police. Speaking to media, both said that they were members of the BJP adding that the guns used by them were not real but toy guns.

Reacting to the incident, Pandat said thst the two were not BJP workers. He said that the two youth had approached him on Sunday at the party office seeking help for treatment of their kin. Panda said that he had asked them to bring the required documents in order for him to be able to provide support to them.

But on Monday, he added, both arrived at the state party headquarter and threatened him at gunpoint.
